The Story Behind the Family

When Zakynthos was ceded by Great Britain to the Kingdom of Greece in 1864, it was agreed that the land would be used by the inhabitants, similar to how it was used during the Venetian occupation three centuries earlier. Our family took advantage of this right and began cultivating wheat and olives, collecting resin from the pine forest, and building a lime kiln on the land where our property now stands. Our family has a deep connection to this land, and this love has been passed down through generations.

In this unique place that we were fortunate enough to inherit from our ancestors, we dreamed, planned and created a retreat whose purpose is to embrace each individual visitor and connect them with the Sky, the Light, the Darkness, the Water, the Rock, and the Earth.

To flood their existence with aromas, natural sounds, and colors of wildflowers.
A retreat that will host hidden and obvious desires. One that will warm souls and bodies. One that will provide a complete experience, indelible in the passage of Time.

Feel the Freedom
& Contact with Nature

The west side of Zakynthos offers a more rugged and untamed experience compared to the rest of the island, where access to the clear blue waters of the Ionian Sea is limited to specific points, such as Porto Limnionas, the location chosen for Terra Lucis Mountain Residences. Unlike the bustling tourist hotspots found elsewhere on the island, the development in this area is minimal, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the island. They can listen to the soothing sounds of nature, breathe in the fragrant scents of the herbs and flowers, and feel a deep connection to the vast sea. Guests can also bask in the sun or enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool waters under the moonlight, or simply relax and watch the sun setting over the endless blue of the Mediterranean.

Special Place
for All Your Needs

The microclimate in this area is exceptional, providing a warm and sunny climate even during the winter months. Combined with the unique flora of the area, it was the perfect location to create an eco-friendly accommodation ideal for visitors seeking a nature-centered experience away from the hustle and bustle of mass tourism. One interesting fact is that an endemic flower called Limonium Zacynthium grows in the area near the sea of Limnionas, and this small flower cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

Food

Zakynthian cuisine is a reflection of the island’s unique history and culture. As an Ionian island, Zakynthos has been influenced by various Mediterranean cuisines, including Italian, French, and Greek. The island’s cuisine is known for its use of fresh, local ingredients such as olive oil, herbs, vegetables, meat and seafood. The Zakynthian fertile soil and mild climate allow for the cultivation of high-quality produce, and traditional cooking methods such as wood-fired ovens and slow roasting techniques are still used in many kitchens.
One of the best places to experience authentic Zakynthian cuisine is Limnionas Taverna. This restaurant offers a unique dining experience with a focus on fresh and locally sourced ingredients. The menu features a variety of traditional Zakynthian dishes, made with locally sourced ingredients. Some of the most popular dishes include fresh fish and seafood, grilled meats, beef stifado and homemade pasta dishes. The menu also includes a variety of vegetarian options, such as stuffed tomatoes & peppers and traditional Greek salads.
The taverna offers a selection of local wines and other beverages to complement the meal. Limnionas Taverna is located in a picturesque setting overlooking the crystal-clear waters of Limnionas, providing a tranquil ambiance that complements the dining experience perfectly.
